When I was just 14, I made a bet with my parents. The terms of the bet were simple. As long as I continued to abstain from the use of drugs and alcohol before turning 21, I would win $2000 cash to do with whatever I want. My parents have always been very supportive and they made it clear to me that even if I chose to drink they would always be there supporting me and helping me make better decisions. However, if I could not wait until I was 21, I would then owe my parents $1000. As of today I can finally say: I won. With the money I have incurred from this bet, I will be funding the Turn Twenty-One project and will be enjoying several incredible days that would not have been possible had I chosen to drink.
